3 Landing Page Steps to Boost Your Quality Score and Lower Your CPC
Check this out
Some of us may not realize that Google Adwords CPC’s (Cost per Click), the amount we pay for a click on a keyword, is a variable. There is NO SUCH THING AS A $.10 KEYWORD! Neither is there such thing as a $.50 keyword, or a $5.00 keyword. This is because Google’s base CPC, the minimum you must pay to trigger your ad for a given keyword, varies. It depends on a slew of factors including match type, relevance of the landing page, and the adgroup’s CTR or Click Through Rate. My $.10 keyword might cost you $.65! Or vice-versa… [Read more →]

Absolute Fastest Way to Index your Website!
Getting your new site indexed is the first step in the ranking process. One of the things you should make sure to do is create a sitemap and submit it to Google through “Webmaster Tools”. Google will send it’s spider to crawl your site and index it, or add it to the search database. Nothing happens with ranking until you are indexed.

One of the ongoing objectives for any campaign, is to pay as little as possible, while getting the best conversion. [Read more →]

Keyword Spy ReviewBy Michael Ullman

Keyword Spy can cut the time it takes to build a keyword list down from hours or days to a matter of seconds. One of the best features is that their return for results happens instantaneously. Most keyword tools take minutes to hours to return results, but you never have to wait when using Keyword Spy. Simply put in a term like flowers, and it will return all the competitors on Google who are bidding on the term flowers. Then you can look at each competitor, and find out all the keywords with the word flowers they are bidding on. In a matter of moments, you can get someone's whole adwords keyword list -- sometimes having more than 27,000 terms!
You can export these terms with one click of a mouse button. This is another strong point with using this tool.
Besides building keyword lists instantly, keyword spy also returns information on how many competitors are bidding on each keyword, the ad effectiveness of a keyword based on its position/rank on search engines result page, and the approximated price pay per click of the advertisement advertising under the keyword.
Is the keyword spy tool right for you? Can it increase your ad campaign profits a hundred times over, as their website claims? I'm not sure, but you can find out for free. Simply go to [http://improveyourinternetmarketing.com/keywordspy.htm] and sign up for a free trial and find out for yourself if it is right for your keyword researching needs.

SpeedPPC - A Powerful PPC Pay Per Click Affiliate Marketing System?
As a long-time PPC affiliate marketer, I am always on the lookout for tools and methods that will help me keep a competitive edge. Recently I learned of SpeedPPC, a software program and system claiming to 'revolutionize' Pay Per Click affiliate marketing. I hear similar claims on a daily basis, but decided to take a look. Let me say at the outset, I'm a skeptic. Having been in this business for more than 5 years, I've developed my own 'hype detector'. I've also learned there are no “magic bullets”. Successful affiliate marketing requires understanding and intelligent application of effective tactics. [more...]

Affiliate Radar - Effective PPC Keyword Tracking Tool?By Michael Ullman
Affiliate Marketers spend a lot of time and money on Google Adwords, most of it for “GoogleCash” type direct-link affiliate marketing. The money is spent “buying” keywords, hoping that when someone searches on that keyword, they will see their ad, click on it, and purchase whatever is at the other end. Their cost is a direct result of how many keywords they have to buy in order to cover all the possible search terms someone might use when looking for whatever they happen to be selling. But as most PPC affiliate marketer learn, all keywords are not created equally. They tend to follow the “80-20 Rule”: 20% of the keywords account for 80% of the sales. If these advertisers could avoid paying for the low-performing 80%, and buy only the 20% that convert into sales, all of their ad campaigns would be successful. Recently I heard of a program called Affiliate Radar which claims to improve the ROI of pay-per-click advertising. Affiliate Radar is a new program designed to track each keyword individually, enabling the advertiser to see which one's are 'winners', and which are 'losers'.
In my blog, Improve Your Internet Marketing, I spend a lot of time going over the basics Internet marketing, as well as the tools that can help to achieve success. I stress the importance of keyword research, particularly for Affiliate Marketing. But even the best keyword research is blinded if you cannot track individual keywords. And while Google offers tracking within Adwords, it often requires code to be placed on the product sales page, which is a problem if you're marketing someone else's product through Clickbank, Commission Junction, ModernClick, or any of the other affiliate networks. Unique "Direct Publishing" locks in your referrals
Free IQ has done many evolutionary things when it comes to affiliate marketing, such as 1-year cookies and SEO-friendly affiliate links. But they've also done some truly Revolutionary things; one of the most significant is "Direct Publishing".If you have your own web site, and are referring to Free IQ, it is easy to use your affiliate link. But if you have a large site, or multiple sites, it can be all too easy to miss opportunities by inadvertantly leaving out your affiliate link somewhere. Or, you may have many links and content that can get unwieldly to update and manage. What if... you could somehow just say, "Here's my URL, make sure that I get the referral for anything coming from here" - well, that is exactly what Direct Publishing is. You simply "register" your domain through a quick and painless two-step process, and Voila! anyone coming from anywhere on your domain automatically gets tagged with your name! You can only do this for domains that you can save a small file to (just your email address on a blank page), and this rules out blogs such as Blogger - which wouldn't be your domain anyhow. But for domains that are yours, this is a wonderful feature! Here is a short video showing you exactly how to do it. Make sure you do it today - don't risk losing a referral that may become someone else's first!

If you're new to Internet marketing and don't know where to start, this article will cover the basics that you need to know. Specifically in this article we will be talking about how to evaluate which products and information are right for your business, the number one most important thing to success in Internet marketing, and finally a basic understanding of how all Internet businesses work. After reading this article you should have sufficient information to start your career in Internet marketing.
If you've read a handful of sales pages or information about making money on the Internet, you've probably had your skepticism alarm kicked in. That's because of either hype, flat out lies or half-truths. Usually what you're reading a sales page is a best case scenario. How often do things go perfectly planned in your life? I thought so. Evaluate all information with an extra layer of skepticism. That doesn't mean you should discount it -- only that you should know that what you are reading is likely to be a best case scenario. Being able to have the proper viewpoint means that once you apply the information you purchase or read about, you won't get frustrated right away and quit.
Secondly, creating a great product and making a very functional website doesn't matter one lick if you can't get people to look at it. Traffic is the most important thing for your success in Internet marketing. If you are going to make money, you need to know how to bring in traffic. You can either pay for traffic, if you have the budget, you can get high rankings in search engines for select terms, or you can utilize other strategies such as article writing and posting on free classified ads to bring traffic to your website. But some how you must familiarize yourself with basic ways of traffic generation, and then determine which ones you will use to get people to come to your website. This is by far the most important thing in Internet marketing.
Lastly, in order to run your business successfully, you must know how to run a business successfully. It would be very smart to take a few books from the library on business plans. Learn about supply chains, and customer service in addition to marketing. If you can't manage your resources and time, than all the inquiries you get about your products and services from your marketing will fall apart as you begin to handle them. I cannot stress this enough -- you should create a business plan to save you time and maximize your potential for profit.
With the proper skeptical attitude toward the products and information you read, a good traffic generation strategy and a sound business plan, you'll be ahead of 95% of people in the Internet marketing arena. The reason most people fail at Internet marketing is because they give up too early. The reason they give out quickly is because they have no long-term vision. By doing all the above, you'll cultivate a long-term vision and you will also use your time and resources much better.

Keyword Research -- a Secret Trick Most People Don't Know

If you're interested in doing keyword research before entering into a niche or market, then you will want to read this article. Specifically, we will discuss how to do keyword research for free, and the proper way to assure you get the most accurate data so you know which keywords to optimize for. After reading this article, you should have a strategy you can use to start all your keyword research.

If you're going to enter into any niche, you should start broad, then go narrow. This ensures you won't miss important keywords. For example, let's say you were going to do keyword research for dieting tips. To start broad, we'd want to research a term like diet. We are not looking for just keywords with diet in them however, because search engines like Google also analyze relevancy by latent semantic indexing (LSI). What LSI means is that search engines check for similar terms related to diet to determine how relevant the content website is.

To take advantage of LSI properly, do a Google search for diet, but put a tilde (~) in front of the term, so search would look like this: ~diet. Google will return related words in bold such as weight loss, recipes, wheat, meal, eating and foods. Notice the difference from these words and words you'd find in a thesaurus. If you're doing keyword research properly, your best to use terms that search engines tell you are relevant, and not what a thesaurus suggests.

You can then take each of these terms, and do another tilde search, and write down more related words that pop up. By going through broader words into more specific words, you'll be sure not to miss any words related to your keyword, and also have a list of an exact vocabulary to use in your pages to ensure Google will evaluate your content as being highly relevant.

In conclusion, the strategy I have given you something you should use every time you're going to do keyword research for a new niche. While this is not the only strategy you should employ, it is the best one to use for getting a list of terms to look at and consider as traffic sources. The next logical step would be to determine how many users are searching for each of those terms, and then locating ones with high searches so you can optimize for not just the keyword, but related keywords that the search engines also place value upon.

3 Stumbling Blocks All New Internet Marketers Face

If you would like to start making money on the Internet, but have had trouble doing so, then this article was written for you. Specifically in this article we'll talk about three major stumbling blocks for making money and the Internet. They deal with the areas of information overload, competition and mindset. After reading this article you should be able to develop a strategic plan to avoid these problems which keep many Internet marketers from succeeding.
Most new marketers suffer from “analysis paralysis”. In other words there are so many moneymaking opportunities on the Internet, it's hard to decipher which ones are worth your time and which aren't. In fact some of the information you come across directly contradicts information from another source. Who is right? You must find out yourself through trial and error. The best way to avoid information overload is to set some goals with your Internet business. That way when you come across a new article, or product you will know if it fits into your business plan or not. Without a plan, you try to go in too many directions at one time.
One thing you must understand is that the Internet can be very competitive. It's not like a brick-and-mortar business where you can rely on location as a competitive advantage. There is not any difference in distance between your Internet website and any other way website out there. Unless you're very savvy at marketing, have a strong infrastructure built or have a lot of money to invest in outsourcing work, it is going to be very hard for you to compete with established Internet businesses unless you do something truly innovating. So you have two choices: locate niches where there is not much competition or come up with an innovative idea and improve upon a solution in the competitive area.
Importantly, many people fail because of their attitude. Making money on the Internet is not as easy as all those sales letters would lead you to believe. It can be very lucrative, and once you really “get it” you can easily double or triple your income in no time. But that doesn't mean there isn't work. The best way to approach Internet marketing is to approach it like a real business. In a real business, when you start you must invest a lot of time and money. Most people start businesses on the Internet because the start up cost is low. But there is still an investment. You have to invest time to build content, and create systems which attract visitors to your website and convert them into paying customers. Do you think you can do that with one or two simple clicks of a button? Probably not.
There are many resources online to help you focus your efforts and improve your skills and tactics. In fact, this was the reason we created Improve Your Internet Marketing, our blog of free advice, tips, and strategies for better Internet marketing. In addition to providing support for both novice and experienced marketers, we send out a free newsletter, Melanies Tips, offering additional tips & tricks. Resources such as these can help overcome “analysis paralysis”.
It’s important to know how to utilize the proper information to build and expand your business. Picking the right areas to compete in, having the proper attitude and realistic expectations, and devoting the time to make it work are three characteristics that are absolutely essential if you want to be a successful Internet marketer. With a decent product, a good attitude, and a disciplined work schedule, you will dramatically improve your chances of success and overcome those 3 deadly stumbling blocks.

This is what Michael Ullman, President of Tasteful Graphics, Ltd., had to say: “Screen Show Pro fills a tremendous market need. Before Screen Show Pro, if you wanted to create videos from your computer screen, you were limited either to paying hundreds of dollars for programs like Camtasia Studio or Adobe Capture, or trying to muddle through the low-cost/freeware/shareware programs available on the Internet. Screen Show Pro offers users a solid, easy-to-use, professional program at an affordable price.”

Apparently Brad Fallon, CEO of Free IQ, agrees. “As Free IQ users already know, the next step in the evolution of the Internet, User Generated Content (UGC) and Web 2.0, are upon us, and video is poised to become the predominant media type. Screen Show Pro is leading the way with an affordable program that makes screen capture video available to anyone with a PC.”

I don't know about you, but when Brad Fallon has something so say, I listen. Closely. Screen Show Pro creates videos by recording your computer screen. You tell the program what you want to record, either the entire screen, or just a portion, such as a browser or program window. The program then records everything that happens including mouse movements, while you narrate. The result is an AVI or Flash SWF file that can be viewed with the included player, inserted into a web page, uploaded to Free IQ, Youtube, Myspace, etc.

The program can be found at: http://www.screen-capture-video.com
.

Applications for Screen Show Pro include “how-to” training videos, sales & informational presentations, software demonstrations, and instructional videos. Screen Show Pro can even turn a PowerPoint presentation into a video that can be played right from a web page. And of course, there is a burgeoning market for free and paid “info-products”, with sites like Free IQ providing the next-generation platform for info-product publishers.

Screen Show Pro Coming Soon...

Screen Show Pro - Coming Soon....

If you've been following this blog, or following Free IQ, or for that matter, been anywhere south of Mars, you know that the future of the Internet is User Generated Content (UGC). It's all about content. And what is the King of Content? Video, of course!

The fastest-growing segment of this fastest-growing area is Screen Capture Video. We've all seen them, videos of PowerPoint presentations, "how-to" videos of software applications, product demonstrations, sales presentations, etc...

Well, until very recently, Camtasia ruled the roost. As well it should; it's a terrific program. Only problem is, it costs almost $300!

That's about to end! Next week will see the release of Screen Show Pro screen recording program. Screen Show Pro is a full-featured application that lets you make videos from your PC screen, while narrating the whole thing.

Oh, and it'll cost less than 50 bucks... Stay tuned!

Cam Studio Now Available on Free IQ

Cam Studio, the screen capture video program that lets you record your screen while narrating over it, is now available directly from Free IQ.

There is also an Affiliate Marketing version available. And if you are a Clickbank affiliate, you can resell the program - I understand some affiliates are getting 20% click-through and 3-5% conversion using Google Adwords. I assume this is because screen recording programs are a pretty wide-open opportunity for anyone making training videos, product sales demonstrations, even Internet videos from their PowerPoint presentations. Tremendous online marketing business opportunity here.

Believe this - Web 2.0 programs like screen capture video utilities that enable User Generated Content (UGC) are truly the "Next Big Thing"!

UPDATE: New Video Added To Google Cash Thing

Quick Update: Chris Carpenter has added 2 astonishing videos to his new Google Cash Detective thing. The PDF is a FREE download, and like I said, even if you don't buy it, there's some really valuable affiliate marketer information!

Free Download from the "Google Cash" Guy

Chris Carpenter, the guy behind Google Cash, has come out with a new product. As with any good Internet Marketer, he is giving away an ebook and video.

I just read through it, and it is on par with his other stuff. Even if you don't buy his product, there is terrific information in his free download. Do yourself a favor: Download and read it. It's free.

If you are doing anything with pay-per-click, or plan to, this pdf has some excellent information.

BTW, if you never read through Google Cash, this is THE book that defined the affiliate PPC market. Incredibly valuable, well written, and still timely.

You don't want to miss out on this one. It will certainly help you become more profitable than ever, however, if you are unaware of these concepts it will be harder than ever to make a profit as an affiliate marketer.

This is a must read.

UPDATE: Cam Studio, the screen capture video program, has re-done their sales page. If you're looking for a wide-open affiliate marketing opportunity, take a look.

How To Start a Video Content Business for Under $30!

We know "Content is King", and that video is the "King of Content". We also know there are fortunes to be made creating video content. In fact, Quest Research estimates that this is the "Pre-Explosion" period, where the early adopters get to ride the tidal wave to huge opportunities.

But exactly how would you go about getting in at this "right time"? I came across one of those "too good to pass up" opportunities and wanted to share it with you. Cam Studio Internet Marketers Version - it's a full system for creating screen-capture video. These are where you do things on your computer while narrating over it, and Cam Studio records the whole thing. The result is a screen-capture video you can sell, give away, leverage.

So what's new? Doesn't Camtasia do exactly that? Sure it does, for up to $300! Cam Studio Internet Marketers Version does all that - for $29! Now I don't care who you are or what your plans are - if you can't afford $29 for the possibility of the Big Payoff - you know, that elusive "Right Place at the Right Time" thing - then you should stop reading this blog now.

Actually, this Cam Studio thing has a money-back guarantee, so you're not risking anything anyway. You gotta get through one of those long sales letters to actually buy it, but that's a small price.

Ok, I'll bite - where would I start? Well, you can record yourself using just about any program you're competent with and create "Beginners" or "For Dummies" videos i.e. "How to set up Quickbooks", or "How to use Craigslist", or "How to format a resume in MS Word"... you get the idea.

$29 to start a business? One that could just maybe possibly make YOU the one that actually got in on The Big One before everyone else on the planet?? Grab Cam Studio and start your video content empire right now!

Is Web 2.0 A Silly Waste of Time?

From a letter from Brad Fallon, Free IQ CEO:

"Web 2.0: Serious Business Tool or Silly Waste of Time? That was the title of a recent E-Commerce Times article. And it is a legitimate question. The technology is terrific, but what good comes out of it? As business executive Kevin Walker points out "Web 2.0 is a waste of time...a lot of people killing time watching inane videos. A lot of people killing time with dumb-dumb blog entries. A lot of people killing time complaining about their stay at some random Holiday Inn."

"There is a lot of technologically advanced time-wasting going on out there. And that’s where Free IQ steps in with important content. Free IQ empowers people to get better at the things they care about. Free IQ has the first mover advantage in the online video space for people who want to make more money, get a great travel deal on their next vacation, become a better golfer, learn to give a more dynamic business presentation, and any one of thousands upon thousands of skills they need.

"Whether you’re focus is on delivering traffic as an Affiliate or you’re a Premium Content Provider (or hopefully both) your association with Free IQ uniquely positions you to profit. You’ll prosper along with Free IQ as people move from using Web 2.0 tools for nothing but fluff to realizing what tremendous tools they are for learning and information distribution.

"Let’s all do something meaningful together, something that can deliver value to millions of internet users. Let’s get busy creating the next wave of Web 2.0 at Free IQ."

FREE Video Screen Capture Program

If you're reading this blog, I probably don't have to sell you on the value of video, or of making screen-capture videos. In fact, I did two previous posts on the topic, one mentioning Camtasia, and another mentioning MuVee. Both good programs. Both NOT FREE.

So to remedy the situation, and again "move the free line", I am offering you a FREE alternative: CamStudio. This program does the bulk of what Camtasia does, that is it will record your screen as you browse, go through a presentation, or work with a program. And it allows you to narrate over it. Finally, it produces the final Flash video.

Unlike the other products, however, this one is FREE. And there's NO CATCH! Wait, it gets better: I'm going to give you MASTER RESALE RIGHTS with it - meaning you can give it away, or sell it! Really!

All you have to do is click on my Free IQ CamStudio link, which will take you to my page on Free IQ. Simply click, and download. Enjoy!

Grabbing the "BEST" Affiliate Links

In the case of Free IQ, affiliate links are like domain names - the "BEST" ones are the most valuable. Whoever had the forethought - and luck! - to grab the domain name "www.AffiliateMarketing.com" is probably doing very well in search.

Within Free IQ, affiliate links (and Author Pages) are whatever you want them to be. Every content listing has a "Get Affiliate Link" button that allows you to name the link to that content. If I find content I like, say about CBmall, an affiliate mall that I can make money with, I then click the "Get Link" button and type whatever I want, such as "cbmall". As long as it isn't already taken, my affiliate link to that page is now "www.freeiq.com/cbmall". If I send someone to that link, I am automatically tracked as the referring affiliate - which means I get my affiliate cut if there is a sale anytime within the next year.

The key phrase there was "as long as it's not already taken".

Your Author Page, the free home page you get, works similarly. If I am clever (and lucky!) enough to grab "selling" (I was), then my Author Page is: http://www.freeiq.com/selling. I can now use that link to send someone to my Free IQ page.

Links within Free IQ resolve as written, so they are indexed and searchable by the search engines. Not only can I promote www.freeiq.com/selling, but it will get indexed and be findable all on it's own!

Needless to say, some of the obvious one's are already gone i.e. affiliatemarketing, internetsales, etc. However, if you like, Free IQ will automatically append the next available number so you might still get affiliatemarketing1 for instance. Still, there is obvious advantage to the former.

And while many of the sales & marketing keywords are taken, most category-specific keywords are not. Have a medical billing system? I believe medicalbilling is still available. Piano? learnpiano is wide open.... You get the idea. If Free IQ takes off like many of us are betting it will, those choice keywords will become scarcer and scarcer!

Taking advantage of ReviewRank™

By all accounts, Amazon is a revolutionary company. Many of the Web 2.0 concepts that we now take for granted on the Web were either invented at Amazon, or "re-made" to the point of being commonplace. Perhaps the most practical (and visible) is the re-invention of user reviews into social interaction. When I shop at Amazon, I always read what others have to say, often skipping editorial reviews altogether. Often, reviewers create a running dialog, commenting on a review, then on the review of the review, etc. This is important because it highlights the fundamental flaw of user reviews - anyone can say anything. And it is not uncommon to see the user reviews being gamed; authors writing glowing reviews of their own pieces under different names.

This is where Free IQ has taken a revolutionary step.

When you search on Free IQ for whatever topic you’re interested in, the results show all of the free content in the main area, and paid content to the right. And it’s ranked according to the reviews of other users who are also interested in that topic, with the most valuable and popular free content at the top.

Even the reviews are reviewed and ranked. Reviews that are rated more helpful by other Free IQ users simply count more. Free IQ calls this ReviewRank™. The key is that there are many other factors at play in how they rank the content search results. For example, how long was a video watched before it was stopped. The more people who decide that the content is worth watching, for a longer period of time, the higher that content will be ranked. And they are all based on the quality of the free content. This creates a far more reliable review system.

Ok, great feature. That's not the point of the post however. The point it this: early in the game, you have the opportunity leverage the momentum of Free IQ. Simply put, with fewer reviewers and products in the beginning, reviews of great content has much greater leverage than they do while the 'pie' is still small.

Take advantage of this diminishing advantage; get your content up as soon as you can!

PS- Watch for the beta launch of Planet Free IQ tomorrow!

User Generated Content (UCG)

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

"User Generated Content" (UGC) is a term you will be hearing a lot of in the coming year. It's not just funny clips on YouTube anymore. Real people from every walk of life have important information that has real value to others.

When you put it online and offer it to the world, you're a producer.

That is the essence of Free IQ? We all have something to add to the
world's information. Sure, our latest podcast might not be as popular as a
famous author's latest tome or the lecture of a renowned academic. But it
can be just as highly rated by those who want that specific information.

Added together, our collective content increases the likelihood that a
consumer can find exactly what they need, just when they need it.

Now, in a minute, I'm going to give you a link to one of the most valuable
videos you can possibly watch this year.

It's that important -- for several reasons -- not to mention that without it,
Free IQ wouldn't exist.

The video above - which took less time to embed on this blog than it took to write the headline - proves the point that you don't need slick, professional studio quality video to provide high quality content that truly makes a difference. (How to embed video on your site).

You just need good, valuable information!

Watch the video. Your head will spin for hours. Days probably.

PS - Watch for Planet Free IQ - launching tomorrow!

Free IQ Teleseminar Tonight 8pm EST

If you missed last weeks teleseminar with Shawn Casey, don't worry, you can listen to it here: FreeIQ Teleseminar with Shawn Casey.

Tonight at 8:00 EST, Master Internet Marketer Shawn Casey will be doing the second in a series of of Tele-training calls about Free IQ.

To listen to the call, dial 1-319-279-1000 and use authorization code: 1086295. There is no registration, just call a few minutes early to be sure you can get on the call.

There are a lot of ways to market with Free IQ, and we’ll be focused on doing everything we can to help you with list-building, traffic-generating, relationship-cultivating and all the skills that can make you a top-level Free IQ affiliate.

In last week’s teleseminar, which is now available on Free IQ, Shawn shared critically valuable information about affiliate marketing. One of the most important big-picture points he made was the huge advantage you have in being a Free IQ affiliate while the site is just a couple of weeks old and still in beta. Shawn pointed out that Free IQ is "a little wave out in the ocean right now but before long it will be like a tsunami." Positioning yourself to profit from that coming wave of customers is certainly something that gives you the first mover advantage with Free IQ. Imagine being among the first to take advantage of Squidoo or MySpace and you'll get the picture.

I will be listing all of the Teleseminars on Planet Free IQ - which launches this week! And speaking of which, if you have a blog, web site, or article relating to Free IQ, send an email to resources@planetfreeiq.com for free inclusion on the site.

Unique "Direct Publishing" locks in your referrals

Free IQ has done many evolutionary things when it comes to affiliate marketing, such as 1-year cookies and SEO-friendly affiliate links. But they've also done some truly Revolutionary things; one of the most significant is "Direct Publishing".

If you have your own web site, and are referring to Free IQ, it is easy to use your affiliate link.

Video the "Old-Fashioned Way"

One of the fundamental functions of FreeIQ is content hosting - free content hosting to be precise - and using this hosted content as a marketing tool. We've already discussed the value of "Moving the free line" by making as much quality content available as possible.

Of course, selling content is another of the underlying concepts of FreeIQ. Regardless, the message is: content is king (yep, that's me; I coined that one...!) The "content" for our purposes is primarily video, audio, and PDF's. We spoke a little about PDFs, and we'll be re-visiting that topic often. Today however, I want to begin focusing more on video. In an earlier post I mentioned "screen-capture" videos using Camtasia. But what about regular, "old-fashioned" video?

Video is one of the most powerful of all mediums. It's TV. And it used to be a fairly involved proposition. Well we know we can now easily create videos by narrating screen activity. But lets not overlook the power of regular video.

If you don't already have video, it is a simple matter to create quality content. You can set up an inexpensive camcorder or digicam on a tripod and go. Some possibilities include videotaping a sales presentation, a training session, or a product demonstration.

Once you have the raw footage, it is now a simple matter to create quality content. One company, MuVee, makes a nifty product, AutoProducer, that takes care of making you look good. Along with the mechanics of cutting or editing, and converting between formats, AutoProducer comes with a zillion templates that give you a polished, professionally produced video with almost no effort. You simply select the template style, add titles, captions, and voice-over narration as desired, and upload it to FreeIQ. Now you have Quality Content!

AutoProducer is priced at$129, and there is even a "lite" version, suitable for most applications, for $49. Best of all, both versions have download-able free trials - now thats moving the free line!

My advice: you can't start building your content library soon enough!

FreeIQ Team Recognizes FreeIQ Marketing Blog

The "Official Team Blog" at FreeIQ has recognized FreeIQ Marketing with a mention in their Blog Watch!

FreeIQ continues to get traction and pick up steam. If you haven't already signed up as an Affiliate, DO NOT WAIT! One of the many clever innovations is using the FreeIQ URL for affiliate links; you simply choose anything you want and it becomes your link. So "www.FreeIQ.com/BobsAffiliateSignups" might be your link to the affiliate sign-up page, or "www.FreeIQ.com/BobatFreeIQ" might be the link you distribute sending people to the home page - and everyone who follows that link is tagged as yours for a full year!

Since you can only use something that isn't taken already, you don't want to wait; the best ones go quickly. "www.FreeIQ.com/NewLogin" for instance, is already gone - that's my link to the New Accounts page!

Content as Marketing - Using PDF's

Earlier I talked about "Moving the Free line", meaning giving away more to attract more business. Now I'm not talking about giving away your primary products, I'm talking about enhancing your marketing, increasing your reach, widening your funnel, relationship-building, and differentiation. "Free Samples" work, even if they aren't product samples. Basically, the more you free value you offer, the better off you are all around.

And since FreeIQ will host your free content for free, why not take advantage of the opportunity? While you don't want to tarnish your image with trash, there is no doubt you have LOADS of valuable content that would improve your prospecting and marketing efforts.

Adobe invented the PDF (Portable Document Format) as a way to make documents portable between computers, OS's, applications, and printers. Since nearly every computer already has a PDF reader or plug-in, you can distribute any type of text & graphics document: text, spreadsheet, slide presentation, etc. And making PDF's is a breeze - many programs can save directly to PDF, and in not, there are freely-available PDF converters available every word processor, spreadsheet, slide-show program, drawing & drafting software - you get the point.

Take a look at Template Zone - they have terrific templates that you can literally paste your stuff into, and it spits out beautiful, professional-looking PDF's ready for upload. Their software is inexpensive and has over 500 ready-made templates for everything from single-page flyers to entire manuals.

So gather your material - your white papers, product reviews, seminar scripts, marketing brochures, customer testimonials, spec sheets, product documentation, instructional material, competitive benefit reports - and convert them to PDF's. Then upload them to FreeIQ. You can group them by product, topic, purpose; now you've begun to Turbo-Charge your marketing!

Planet FreeIQ => Pre-launch!

Planet FreeIQ is now up in pre-launch! Living at www.planetfreeiq.com, Planet FreeIQ will be a resource for all things FreeIQ - blogs, Web sites, forums, etc. It will provide current, frequently updated listings, as well as articles, interviews, and more!

If you have a blog, Web site, forum, or anything else related to FreeIQ, email them at: resources@planetfreeiq.com for inclusion on the site.

The launch is scheduled for May 1st. We'll keep you posted on Planet FreeIQ; as they say, "It's a Big planet, someone's got to organize it" - good luck, guys!

Signing Up Affiliates

One of the (many!) brilliant aspects of FreeIQ is it's Affiliate setup. They looked at all the affiliate programs out there (their background is IN affiliate marketing), made a list of all the things affiliate programs did WRONG, then did it RIGHT!

There are two key considerations regarding affiliate marketing: getting paid for passing sales to a merchant, and developing sub-affiliates. FreeIQ really shines here. They listed all the ways it was done wrong i.e. short-term cookies, lost commissions, one-time sales, single-tier program, etc. Then they did the opposite.

When you sign-up as an affiliate, you don't have to worry, you are tracked for a FULL YEAR! The system then lets you pick your own links, for example www.freeiq.com/mynewaffiliates, that you use to sign up other affiliates. Those affiliates who sign up using your link are then YOURS FOR A FULL YEAR! I urge you to go to the Affiliate Page and read it - this is how all affiliate programs should be done!

My advice is: Don't wait! Sign up for your account, generate your own affiliate links, and start signing up your own year-long sales force!

Selling Services - Move the "Free" line

If you sell services of any type, consulting, programming, graphic design, psychic - anything, than FreeIQ can be a boon to your business! The concept we're going to discuss is "moving the 'free' line.

What is the "free line"? It's what you'll do for free in order to attract business, win over prospects, upsell existing customers, etc. Examples might include free demonstrations, initial free consultation, free reading, even writing a proposal. You do this to further the sales cycle and build your funnel. The more you can "give away", the more valuable you are providing. So where does FreeIQ come in?

FreeIQ will host your content - video, audio, pdf's, etc. for free, nicely presented on a professional looking page. So you post your 'free' content, and refer prospects, link it to your site, etc.

Now here's the key: Every business knows things that are valuable to their customers. This could be in the form of a training manual, promotional video, white paper, sample work, etc. By uploading your content to FreeIQ, you create and name a page with a legitimate, searchable link such as "www.freeiq.com/smithassociatestrainingvideo". You can point people there, or include your contact info or a link.

Here's the "moving the free line" part: you all have valuable content, why not make it available for free? This has the tremendous synergistic effect of prospecting, pre-selling, rising above competition.

If you think about it, there's probably TONS of stuff: word documents such as sales brochures, white papers, price lists, FAQ's, manuals, etc.

TIP: You can easily convert Microsoft Word documents directly into downloadable pdf's from within Word.

Taped a seminar? A conference call? These make ideal free content. Why not host them on FreeIQ? There's no better sales & prospecting tool!

FreeIQ - How to actually MAKE MONEY? Part I

An interesting thing happened to me tonight: I did a Google search on FreeIQ blogs. Well, of course I found FreeIQ Marketing. But, I also found quite a few others, and the majority of them all had the same thing: "FreeIQ - it's great, sign up!" But nobody is talking about how to MAKE MONEY with FreeIQ! Well, FreeIQ Marketing is about using FreeIQ to make money. Lets begin with...

Lesson #1 - CONTENT!

This one's easy: Marketing! Ok, well exactly how do I go about it? The main draw of FreeIQ is Content. If you want to use FreeIQ for marketing, you need content. But where does the content come from?

One of the tag lines for FreeIQ is: "Everybody knows something worthwhile". Perhaps the easiest way to use FreeIQ for marketing is to create some content, linked to your site, blog, product page, etc. and post it!

Ok, sounds good, but... I'll answer your question before you ask it: You can create content simply by walking through your stuff on screen, whether it's your web site, PowerPoint presentation, software application, and record the screen while narrating over it! This is your content! Upload it, link it, Wham! Web 2.0 marketing done right!

One of the really cool tools to come along lately is Camtasia (here is a link for a free trial). What is FreeIQ? It is nothing less than the evolution of Internet information and marketing! FreeIQ is a Web 2.0 site, search engine, and host for video, audio, pdf, and every other type of information.

Imagine YouTube, but instead of cheesy kid pranks and grainy cel-phone videos, a repository of the highest-quality content, all in one place, search-able, and of course, free. Using a proprietary Ranking System, FreeIQ insures that only the best content floats to the top!

Now think MySpace - but in place of all those horrific MySpace profiles are high-quality, readable "Author Pages". And speaking of Author Pages, grab yours now! For a short while, FreeIQ is literally a "Land Grab"!

Add your own content
FreeIQ will host unlimited Video, Audio, PDFs, and Web Pages. You simply login and upload your content to their servers. It is now avaliable to anyone, anywhere!

Earn Some Cash
One of the brilliant features of FreeIQ is that you can make your content available for purchase - FreeIQ handles all of the payment backend. You simply upload your stuff and set a price. Anyone can visit the site and purchase your content; FreeIQ handles the rest! You can also embed a video from the website into your existing webpage and if someone watches the video and then goes on to buy a product you get paid a nice commission.

Affiliate Marketing
Perhaps the most astounding feature of FreeIQ is that you can refer anyone to the Web site, and get a commission on anything they purchase - your or anyone else's! You simply give them a link to the page and FreeIQ automatically track it. If they purchase anytime within a year, you get paid! Sign-up for the Affiliate Program - it's free and easy!
